Sponge for nasal treatment with Merocel Medtronic thread (Box of 10 units) to prevent nasal bleeding. PVA sponge nasal plug. Indicated for all types of nasal surgery and epistaxis.

The cells are interconnected, which gives the material its strength, absorbency and softness. MEROCEL nasal compresses offer an easy and economical form of tamponade after the post-operative period in cases of nasal surgery. They are clinically designed to provide soft, uniform support within the nasal cavity. They come compressed to facilitate insertion. They provide soft, even support by expanding when hydrated. They help keep the antibiotics in contact with the site where the surgical intervention has been performed. They absorb postoperative secretion
CHARACTERISTICS:
1º) It is a 100% fiber-free material.
2º) Great absorption. They retain several times their own weight in fluids.
3º) Capillarity. Ability to spread liquids over the entire surface of the sponge evenly and overcoming the force of gravity due to its characteristic composition of interconnected cells.
4º) Merocel is extremely strong and does not tear or fall apart during use. Although extremely strong, it is highly flexible and surprisingly soft.
5º) It is bio-compatible. It does not present rejection as a foreign body as it is 100% synthetic.
6º) It is an inert material. Therefore it does not cause the proliferation of bacteria.
