Other clinical effects

The dog prostate serves as an animal model in relation to the presence of abnormalities in the growth of the human prostate. In a study (Leoci et al. 2014) carried out for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), applying electrodeless electrotherapy, it was shown that the volume of the prostate is significantly reduced, without influencing semen quality, behavior of testosterone or libido.

In another clinical and experimental study (Funk et al. 2014) it has been documented that MAGCELL® MICROCIRC also has an effect of increasing microcirculation in the microvessels and that nitrogen monoxide (NO) acts as a vasodilator. The authors recommend this therapy for clinical situations in which improvement of microcirculation is required, such as in wound healing dysfunctions.

Therapeutic information

Electrotherapy application without electrodes, generates alternating magnetic fields through the rotation of permanent magnets. Through the specific position of the magnets and the functionality of the equipment, a sinusoidal pulse electromagnetic field (PEMF) is generated. However, its field intensity with a value of 0.105 Tesla is much higher than magnetic field therapy equipment with coils or mats, which generally operate with maximum intensities of 100 Gauss, i.e. 0.01 Tesla, on the other hand, this therapy presents intensities of greater power equivalent to a factor of 10 compared to what these devices normally present.

According to the law of induction, time-varying magnetic fields induce electric fields. The physical effects of MAGCELL® are based on the electric field generated in cells and living tissues according to the law of induction. The field drives an electrical current in the tissue depending on its electrical conductivity. This current can be calculated taking into account the specific conductivity for different tissues and body fluids. Its intensity or, to be more precise, the electrical current density (= current intensity per surface area, A/m²) determines the biological effectiveness.

All calculated current densities are greater than the value of 10 mA/m² and thus fall within the scope of internationally confirmed “good” effects: above the scope of “subtle biological effects” and within the area of ​​“confirmed macro effects” (10-100 mA/m²). The induced current densities in blood and body fluids are even much higher. The term “electrodeless electrotherapy” for MAGCELL® is based on induced current densities of different intensities and exceeding the threshold value of 10 mA/m². On the other hand, both do not occur in equipment with coils or mats.

Body fluids play an essential role for the therapeutic treatment of pathologies with MAGCELL® (e.g. synovial fluid). Cells present in these fluids or cells in immediately adjacent tissues are exposed to the calculated current densities. In this case, MAGCELL® far exceeds the recognized effective current densities, so that effectiveness is even guaranteed at a depth of 3-5 cm within the tissue. MAGCELL® also has the ability to induce “suprathreshold” current densities in the blood, which is decisive for clinical therapeutic effects both for the improvement of blood flow and for immunomodulatory processes. The same occurs with interstitial fluids, which are also present in almost all organs and tissues. In bone or adipose tissue that has very low conductivity, current densities are clearly below the effectiveness threshold of 10 mA/m². Therefore, one can hardly count on a therapeutic effect on these tissues.
