The pre-assembled BD Safety-Lok™ safety wing is a product specifically designed for blood collection in difficult veins. It has an integrated safety device aligned with the bevel of the cannula, which is activated by the user as soon as the needle leaves the patient's vein, preventing accidental punctures.

There are different techniques to activate the safety mechanism that, when done with one hand, allow the user to perform hemostasis at the same time.
